Horned Gold Lady Loki Inspired Demihelm Diadem

My last headdress of the year!

This piece is a lightweight demihelm design that was custom designed by me for a customer wanting a horned headdress to be worn with a particular corset she had had made. The entire piece was sculpted by hand using various types of epoxy clays and putties, sanded, primed and painted with my own custom made metal paint using a UV protective clear sealant base and pure genuine bronze metal powder.

The powder used is NOT a pigment, it is micro fine brass which can be melted down and reformed into a solid again. These powders are amazing and can accurately reproduce the look of ancient Chinese gilt lacquer, a look that no pigment based paint can even come close to doing.

Once dry, I did a light patina aging effect over the brass layers which is why it is not blindly bright gold/polished brass. I needed to colour match the pieces the customer already had from another artist.
