Lady Loki Costume 2 by MorganCrone Lady Loki Costume 2 by MorganCrone
An original design for a variation of Lady Loki.

This is all of it including the cape.
The skirt is longer in the back then in the front which doesn't show in the photo.

This is the costume that goes with the headdress [link]

Once complete this costume took 170 yards of trim, 13 yards of HANDMADE embroidered braid trims, 16 yards of fabric and over 2,000 yards of thread. The cape is fully reversible.

The fur stole is ALL hand stitched and satin lined, it has a removable lace-up adjustable pleather back panel and eye and hook closers in the front, the long parts can also be worn around the back. The cape can be worn fastened in the front or hidden adjustable straps around the back for a 'How the hell does that stay on?' comic book look.

The tunic dress is 100% raw silk double hemmed so no fraying and the ruffles are black chiffon, triple edged with a rolled hem. Each of the 6 points of the bottom are ended in faceted black teardrop and roundel beads. It's designed to be able to tuck the handkerchief bottom under the waist band for a fitted tunic top or left untucked and worn as a dress.

It was actually a little last minute. It had to be done to be shipped to Hollywood for the premiere of the Avengers movie so while I did everything I could to take my time and not rush, it really was a rush! There're some details I would have liked to added and some structural things I would have liked to tweaked that wouldn't have been noticeable but I would know they were there :P

I had never met the woman who commissioned it so I was making a tailored outfit based on a few measurements.
I hope to have photos of it on the actual person soon.
This was the best I could do before shipping if off to the customer.

I don't have a dress form so this is on a plastic backless half torso display with one of my bras and the whole thing is padded with strapped on pillows, socks, a long sleeve shirt and a wide belt to make the waist :P

Also, not appearing in this photo: are also sculpted snake buckles on fur boot cuffs that are also broaches with double pin backs so they are removable and can be worn anywhere as a pin.
The 'stones' in the snakes are ALL hand cast and polished dichoric resin with a sealed crackle finish, even the 2mm ones.

The outfit also has leather-look lycra opera length gloves with fur trim and embroidered edging.

The entire costume is a one of a kind. The design now belongs to the lady who commissioned it. But I do take commissions for other pieces and can do something similar, just not exact to this one. You can email me at Morgan_Crone@Yahoo.com with what you have in mind. Please note that I am booked up with commissions until the beginning of next year.

It was a lot of work and the insane stuff going on at the same time as having to get this done in about a month. I was cracking up but I managed to get it done.

Thank you :flirty:
It was supposed to be based on a little of all the comic versions yet something unlike any of the comic versions and leaning more toward the Norse Loki in subtle references.
The cosplayer wanted something completely unique with the overall feel of the character. I know her very well so the costume was designed for her. For instance, she's a bellydancer so the skirt was based on the movement of the bellydancing skirts, etc. She's also on the Gothy side so heavy on the blacks and grey wolf fur rather then the brown fur you see most of the Lady Lokis with. Overall it was a very personal project for her with more significance then I doubt anyone will ever know.

you're welcome :D
that's really awesome that you fit the costume to the personality of that girl. Most of professional sewers just don't care about the personal characteristics of their customers, so it's really cool of you that you considered her character and style. :)
I myself am doing a fem Loki cosplay (well I will start with it in some days) and have decided to go for sth more original, a mix between comics and movies Loki with a female touch to it :D
so keep up the good work and hopefully we will see more of your beautiful projects in the fture :D
