Description
I've been working on remaking an old piece I made back in 2002 and this is the result.
Originally, it was my first chainmaille necklace and first substantial chainmaille piece, it was also the first time I worked with steel.
It's gotten a lot of attention over the years and has been my favourite and most sentimental piece.
I tore most of it away and built on what was left.
It now weighs 3 lbs.
The beads are all hematite and faceted antique glass beads. The rings are round 1/4" stainless steel and oval steel plated copper from a very old stock.
Many of the plated oval rings are showing wear, but I like the texture it gives and they were from the original stock I made my first necklace from. It's only for my own use so I don't care too much, it's not like my obsessive quality requirements on other pieces.
This is much more for aesthetics and I am very pleased with it.
